Who Cares for the Carer? UK

Care - of yourself

As well as teaching English as a second language I write "How to" courses to help educate and improve the lives of all who work in the Care Sector.  This course is specifically for "unpaid Carers" in the UK but would also be helpful if you were new to the Care industry.

It is a practical wellbeing course, inspiring and building confidence for the unpaid Carer AND those they care for!

This is the introduction blurb 😀

Hi, I'm Julie and I have over 30 years of experience working in the Care sector in hospitals, residential homes and one-to-one in people's own homes.  I live in the UK.

"Who Cares for the Carers" takes a (w)holistic approach as to the wellbeing of both the Carer AND those in their care.

This course is designed for all who are "unpaid carers" or those new to the care profession. It can be adapted to all ages and abilities from parents with children to children looking after their elderly parents, caring for the disabled, and everything in between!

It goes way beyond the "if you meditate for 10 minutes a day, everything will be OK" school of thought!  Yes, meditation is very important (and is included in this course) but so is the remaining 23 hours and 50 minutes of your day!  If these are overloaded with stress and feelings of anxiety then meditation is meaningless and will not help!

This course will give you the "tools for your toolbox" that you can pull out as and when you need them.  I will also provide you with practical handouts and suggest videos that are openly available on YouTube to watch.

I have formatted my course in a 7-day cycle.  This is to give you the freedom and flexibility to create your own week of activities and meditations.  It is not a one size fits all course and you adapt it to meet your circumstances and situation. Be adventurous, be inspired and be encouraged to try something new and out of your comfort zone (and don't give up after the first attempt)!  You may be amazed at the results!!

The outcome that I desire for you is to gain confidence in your role as a Carer, look after your own well-being and your loved ones in a calm and happy environment.

The contents of this training, such as text, graphics, images and other material are intended for informational and educational purposes and not for the purpose of rendering medical or mental health advice. The contents of this training are not intended to substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, and/or treatment. Please consult your medical professional before making changes to your diet, exercise routine, medical regimen. lifestyle, and or mental health care.

If you (or someone you know) would like a "knowledgable friend" to walk beside you to help you through the complexities of caring for a loved one.  Please have a look at the course which I have to offer.

Thank you!
